Women's Head Coach 17/18

Barts and The London BC consists of a growing team of medical, dental and allied health course students. The club is looking to develop further following its recent growth and success, with both sides of the club looking to perform at an even higher level. The club has a rich history as a hospital boat club dating back to 1844, and have competed at Henley on numerous occasions.

 

The Women’s side of the club has been growing exponentially in recent years, now entering three VIIIs into tideway competitions. It is looking to achieve the following in the upcoming rowing season:

  • Qualification to Henley Women’s Regatta

  • Top 120 finish in WeHoRR

  • Strong performance at BUCS events

  • Win the United Hospitals league

Barts and The London Women’s Boat Club are seeking to partner with a part-time coach of graduate or similar level. This would be someone looking to develop his or her coaching abilities and help the women’s side of the club to work to it’s full potential. Payment for said work is negotiable and will be agreed upon following discussion.

The women’s coach will be expected to lead water sessions 2 times a week for the senior crews with a main focus on the development of the first and second boats. Training takes place on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings (exact timings to be discussed).They will work with current committee to plan sessions and play a key role in crew selection as well as production of a land training plan in order to fulfill each crew’s potential.  We expect the coach to run all sessions according to the necessary health and safety rules of the club Tideway experience is desirable.
